Don Stine is looking for an assistant for the Region 17 show. This is a paid  position doing ears in win shots and helping at the booth, please contact Laurie Mostowich at 403-615-1096. This would  be great for family members attending the show, not showing. Please let us know ASAP!

The Stampede  Board has been in touch with us with a request for horses and people to be involved with two upcoming promotional events so I am hoping someone can help us out.   Please feel free to pass this information along to any and all Arabian horsey folks.
   
Here are the particulars:
 
Friday June 20
The Morning Show will be at the Stampede Grounds to showcase upcoming events.  We would love to have a beautiful Arabian costume horse for sure and if you want to bring a friendly western pleasure and/or dressage horse along that would be wonderful.  The owner(s) should be attired appropriately and willing to be interviewed.  As the Morning Show often requires a 5 a.m. call, participants will be stabled overnight on the grounds.    Later on there is a President's Function at the grounds and they would love to have a
couple of horses available for that function as well.  
 
Saturday June 21
So this is the big public open house, meet and greet.  We would love to have as many Arabians representing as many different disciplines as possible.  They have specifically asked for a costume horse and a distance horse but I would love to see as many as we can muster for this event.  Arrival is 11 am and the event will run for a
couple of hours that afternoon.
 
Please let Laurie know as soon as you can if you might be available for one or both of these events.  Fabulous
breed promotion and Region 17 Championship show promotion opportunity.

The Region 17 Spring Meeting is this weekend, in Calgary!

The Wine and Cheese is in the River Suite at the Delta Bow Valley on Friday night. This is on the 25th floor, so if you are checking in remind the front desk that you need access to the 25th floor. This should be done automatically. Everyone is welcome to attend the Wine and Cheese Friday night. If you are not a guest at the hotel, just have to ask at the front desk and they will escort you to the 25th floor.

Lunch is provided by the Stampede, but Lorne needs a final count of individuals attending, other than the delegates.

For anyone who chooses to drive to the Stampede on Saturday morning, come in off of 11th ave (west bound) or 12th Ave (east bound). Turn south at 3rd street and park in Lot 10. You will be asked to pay for parking but we will be getting the parking validated so it can be refunded but you have to pay up front.

If you know of any other members planning to attend please have them contact Lorne so he knows they are coming and has sufficient lunch available.

March is upon us, which means AGM time! Only one baby on the ground so far for those who attended, many more to come!

Here are some highlights from the meeting:
~ Application for the Stampede Parade has been submitted, we are waiting to hear back.
~ Region 17 Spring Meeting is being held in Calgary, March 29! With a tour of the new facility! Tour at 8:30, meeting at 10am, all at the Stampede Grounds! Check the Region 17 website for more info! Laurie will be our delegate.  
~ Mane Event is April 25-27, we will be co-hosting the booth with Parkland. Anyone interested in sitting at the booth, let us know! ~ August 24th has been tentatively identified for a Community Show in Cochrane.
~ Directors were all re-elected, only change is that Barb will now be 1st VP.
